  • Text reading 'What does it mean to be a FAA Part 107 Certified Drone Pilot?' over a house background. FAQ image for Kristin Boyer, K Boyer Real Estate Media

Being an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot is essential for real estate drone photography and video because it ensures legal, safe, and professional operation of drones in commercial settings. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires certification for anyone using drones for business purposes, including real estate marketing.

A certified drone pilot understands airspace regulations, flight restrictions, and safety protocols, reducing the risk of accidents or legal issues. Compliance with FAA regulations also protects real estate agents, property owners, and clients from potential liabilities associated with unauthorized drone operations. Additionally, certification ensures high-quality, professional results, as trained pilots have the skills to capture compelling aerial imagery while maintaining safe flight practices.

Hiring a licensed drone operator not only ensures legal compliance but also enhances the credibility and professionalism of your real estate marketing efforts.
